Flexible Programs for School Communities

Family Literacy for Schools

We bring adult education directly to community locations, helping parents learn English and improve their education level in a supportive, accessible setting.

Strengthening Families
Through Literacy

Following our five-component 2Gen (Two-Generation) Approach, we bring family literacy programming directly into schools through interactive sessions designed for real families and busy schedules. The benefits of learning together as a family include:

  • Improved parent English literacy skills: Parents participating in the program improve their English communication, reading, and writing skills.

  • Improved academic performance: Children whose parents are involved in their education tend to perform better in school.

  • Stronger family relationships: Engaging in educational activities together – Parent and Child Together time (PACT) strengthens family ties and creates lasting memories.

  • Access to Community Services: LCS surveys participating families to identify their needs, then brings community partners into parent ESL classes to connect families with trusted resources and information on accessing services.

  • Digital Literacy Support: Help families access the technology they need by providing computers and internet resources through our partnership with e-Smart Recycling.
