Literacy Matters Luncheon
Guest speaker: Craig J. Boykin
His father abandoned him at birth and his mother started using drugs when Craig was in elementary school. In the third grade he was held back, placed in special education, and diagnosed with a learning disability. He also repeated the fifth grade and dropped out of high school. But Craig is a statistic not because he dropped out, but because he refused to accept dropping out as the end of his story.
His story is one that moves, touches and inspires audiences. It’s a story about determination and personal accountability. It’s a story about a young man who refused to accept his current situation and moved forward with a simple message: Change is possible!
Craig now travels the country presenting his seminars and workshops. He has published five books since 2013, including Right Motives, Wrong Methods, and he has been featured on talk shows, won various awards, and his story has been shared in many inspirational magazines and across the web.
