CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE TO SARASOTA

In 1978, residents concerned about the number of people in the Sarasota area unable to read banded together and formed The Literacy Council of Sarasota.

Today, we continue our vital mission of building a more literate Sarasota, with the help of more than 150 volunteers and tutors who work with adults one-on-one at no cost.

With the generous help of donors, we are able to provide these services:

• Workplace Literacy Program
  
• Basic Literacy Program (including GED preparation)
  
• English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (including citizenship education)
